Android 2.1 to 2.2.1 Froyo Upgrade for Samsung Epic 4G Officially Available – Sprint

Upgraded Android 2.2 Froyo is officialy available for Samsung Epic 4G from Sprint. Earlier too, there were lots of updates available for various US Variants of the Samsung Galaxy S, but none was official. Where Sprint has given a good deal in past too to America with the Froyo update for the HTC Evo 4G, but this time, it offered Android 2.2 for Samsung Epic 4G users. As it is an Official Update of Android 2.2 Froyo, it will surely be the most likedand if do not have that update yet, then you must Download and Install the Update. To see the update of Android 2.2 Froyo Over the Air, you will have to wait as it will be seen anywhere Between now and End of this Month.
As the Manual downloading is quite easy, it can be Updated from Android 2.1 to Android 2.2 Froyo on your existing Samsung Epic 4G.

Following are the steps to Update Android 2.2 Froyo for Samsung Epic 4G:

Step 1 – First of all you need to Download the required update.zip File

Step 2 – Now RENAME the downloaded file name to update.zip

Step 3 – Now Move the file from your PC to the Epic 4G (for this first mount the USB storage and then drag the update.zip into highest-up folder of the root)

Step 4 – Now restart your Samsung Epic 4G device into “Recovery Mode”

a) Turn off your Epic 4G.

b) Till the phone is in off mode, hold down the “Volume Down”, “Camera” and “Power” button by hold them.

c) Now your Epic 4G will boot into Recovery Mode.

Step 5 – Now we need to Apply the update.zip of SD card while in Recovery Mode

Step 6 – After it is applied Successfully, you will now have Android 2.2.1 Froyo (DK28) on your Samsung Epic 4G with the support of Sprint.
