At a time when the world is turning its back at the notebooks and talking only about tablets, ASUS is unfazed by the hype and it perfectly understands that a notebook is the most functional form of a computer after the PC. ASUS has introduced its newest Core i3 laden baby, a 13.3-inch notebook which is dubbed the ASUS U30jc. The top-end CPU is mated to a NVIDIA Optimus graphics chipset that automatically switches between the integrated Intel GPU and the discrete GeForce GT 310M.
A notebook should importantly have a convincing run time other than a good processor and a decent screen size and the U30jc seems to fit in that bracket with a 9.5hrs of run-time commitment. Even if it manages to do 8 hours with all the Intel Core i3 350M processor speed, it is worth a grab at $899.99.
For that money, you also get a 4GB RAM, a 320GB 5,400rpm hard-drive and an Altec Lansing speaker system. Connectivity options include HDMI and VGA while a sexy chiclet keyboard rounds up the spec sheet nicely. [via: Dailytech]
