BenQ has launched the S6 MID in Italy for the mobile carrier TIM. BenQ’s S6 Mobile Internet Device (MID)is centered around the 800MHz Atom processor and has a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen and has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 7.2Mbps HSDPA. 2GB of SSD-based storage, 512MB of RAM and a microSD card reader. Measuring 159 x 89 x 22mm and weighing just 330g, the S6 is certainly portable. A 3G-enabled ultra mobile device like this really is not bad at all.
The BenQ S6 (MID) will cost around $626, it offers Internet connection as its only function since its standby time is not long enough. Talk function is to be added to second-generation machine, which is estimated to hit the market in the second half-next year.
