The top-notch smartphones and cellphones always get discussed but the fact remains that more than half the world can only afford mainstream phones owing to financial constraints. A few phones belonging to the category are destined to arrive in the market sometime soon and it is Bluetooth SIG that rendered a few hints about these phones. The first one will be the Sony Ericsson W100 Spiro which will be the latest member belonging to the Walkman series. The last phone belonging to the (W) Walkman lineage was the W205 which arrived almost an year ago.
There are no details available about the W100 Spiro but as per Bluetooth SIG, the presumably low-end device will feature Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity.
Next on list is the Motorola i296 Gallo (pictured atop) where the ‘i’ in the nomenclature reflects the presence of iDEN technology. The i296 is a candybar style phone and it will be released by Boost Mobile in the US.
Last on the list of mainstream future arrivals will be the ZTE E520 which will be a CDMA 1x candybar featuring a music player, Bluetooth and a VGA camera. The phone will be sold by Metro PCS. [Via: Unwiredview]
