
The latest brand of loudspeakers from Bowers & Wilkins, MM-1 has been announced to hit the market. This new product has an integrated one 3-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter in each speaker. Each driver of the speaker is powered by a dedicated 18W amplifier. The tweeters include the latest feature, B&W’s Nautilus tube-loaded design, which is claimed to decrease resonance and improve the high-frequency sounds to give better clarity of sound.
Integrated Digital Signal Processing (DSP) components are also included so that the speakers automatically adjust sound and balance it depending on the signal received at various times. These speakers also have digital to analog conversion ( A/D conversion) technology for improved sound which comes handy when speakers are attached to a computer via USB. This system also supports users to plug in their headphones to the MM-1 and it provides a noticeable improvement compared to other systems. The price of has not yet been decided, however the product is expected to be shipped by February 2010.
