Averatec announced a new all-in-one desktop PC that seeks to take on the illustrious Apple iMac in terms of design and features, while also offering several high-end features such as desktop-grade Core 2 Duo CPUs. Unlike the iMac – which uses the mobile Core 2 processors – the Averatec model uses E4600 2.4GHz processors, Intel’s desktop-calibur chip. The Avertec All-In-One provides a 22-inch widescreen with a built-in HDTV tuner, 320GB hard drive, and a vertically oriented optical drive. In terms of graphics hardware, Averatec is supplying a dedicated Nvidia GeForce 8400 graphics card, although it is uncertain what size the graphics memory will be; the speed of the included 2GB of system memory was also not mentioned.
Other specifications were not immediately available, but Averatec did confirm pricing to be $1249, selling from its online store, and several other retailers.

Lenovo has announced the launch of the IdeaCentre K210 desktop, marking the company’s global entry into the consumer desktop market outside of China. The new TouchSmart IG504 and IQ506 from HP is a very beautiful all in one PC. Last year’s Touchsmart IQ770 in comparison looks like a clunky old knob. The TouchSmart is a touch screen based all-in-one workstation or a home entertainment solution, what ever suits your fancy since this baby is even bigger and meaner than the old one. As a cherry on the cake it even is cheaper than the old one, obviously variants will cost more as per configurations.
The TouchSmart IQ504 Features
22- Inch display
64-bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium and 4GB of RAM.
2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 CPU
4GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM
320GB, 7,200rpm hard drive
Integrated Intel GMA X3100 graphics chip.
The IQ506 comes with other things being similar
64-bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium and 4GB of RAM.
2.16GHz Core 2 Duo T5850 processor,
500GB hard drive
256MB Nvidia GeForce 9300 M GS graphics chip.
The IQ504 will be around $1,299 and the IQ506, with a TV tuner, a faster CPU, and a larger hard drive, well go for $1,499. Expected to be launched around July 13 in the US markets.

VIA announced to launch the Mini-ITX 2.0, its latest platform for mini desktop PCs. The spec for mainboards is designed to allow small (6.7in square), quiet systems using processors such as VIA’s own Nano but is unique in mandating a full-speed, 16-lane PCI Express 2.0 slot; the requirement gives all systems room for a fast video card, virtually guaranteeing support for DirectX 10 and OpenGL 2 in games and other apps that demand advanced 3D; an integrated DirectX 9-class chipset is also present as a fallback.
VIA offers up its Mini-ITX sequel as an open platform that can be customized by PC makers to fit in different platforms, but will also offer stock mainboards for hobbyists. Both the boards and complete systems using the platform should be available during the fall.
