
Optoma today released the EP1080 premium full HD projector in Korea. The projector is equipped with TI’s 0.95-inch 1080p DMD chipset and supports 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 3,600 ANSI Lumen of brightness and 2,200:1 contrast ratio. The Optoma EP1080 also adopts Philips’ VIDI technology and comes equipped with HDMI port, DVI-D, S-Video, and IR receiver. You can purchase the EP1080 in January 2009 for 9,900,000 Korean Won.

eStarling today launched their latest digital photo frame called the ImpactV. Priced at $199, it comes with DVD quality video playback (maximum of 4 minutes), a custom iPhone application, Photobucket and YouTube search and Facebook support. The digital photo frame also supports an 8inch LCD display, Wi-Fi connectivity, photo scheduling, RSS feeds support and the ability to email photos directly to the ImpactV.

Denon introduced the world’s first high end Blu-ray universal player known as the DVD-A1UD. The player is able to play Blu-ray, DVD discs, DVD-audio, SACD and standard CDs. The Denon DVD-A1UD adopts Denon Link 4th technology and comes equipped with two HDMI 1.3 ports, component video, S-video, composite video, optical digital audio, coaxial digital, balanced two-channel stereo analog audio, Ethernet, and SD memory card slot. Denon has decided to release the DVD-A1UD in Japan next month for $5,879. The European release will be in March for €4,000.

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America announced the release of two new 500-series projectors with the wide-format WD510U and WD500U-ST. Both have 1280×800 native resolution and 16:10 aspect ratios and are meant for use in education and business industries. The WD510U has a brightness rating of 2,600 lumens, with the WD500U-ST rated at 2,100 lumens. Both use Texas Instruments’ DDP 2230 DMD chip with DLP technology to reproduce colors. The pair can account for beige, blue, green, pink, blackboard and whiteboard projection surfaces to create color-correct images. The WD510U has a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. The WD500U-ST is a short-throw projector meant to work in close quarters, capable of throwing up 60-inch images only 28 inches from the screen. Its contrast ratio is rated at 2,500:1. Lamp life is rated at 4,000 hours of life for either new projector.
The Mitsubishi WD510U is available now, priced at $1,495. The WD500U-ST costs $1,695.
