The iPad will never be short of rivals though the ‘real’ ones arguably won’t be many, like usual times, for the iPad bears an Apple logo. The source of discussion here is the WePad, which is a rival matching the iPad hand-in-hand, at least on paper. A whopping number of five companies- 4titoo, Neofonie, Siemens, Intel and Adobe- have all joined hands to create a worthy product they dub the WePad. It sure could give the iPad a run for its money not because of the amalgamation of those five names, but even because of the spec sheet.
The WePad broke cover in Germany with features such as a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor paired with 16GB of flash storage. The overall touch-screen size is 11.6-inches and the screen has a 1366 x 768 resolution. The WiFi variant is the more affordable of the two at €449. The Tablet also offers Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, a 1.3MP webcam and a couple of USB 2.0 ports.
The 3G version is understandably more expensive and it bears a price tag of €569. The only difference between the two variants is the 3G version offering 32GB of storage space. [via: Slashgear]
