Kodak C180 is the new 10.2 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom that will give out decent quality photographs in most situations. Besides the photos Kodak C180 can also take good quality videos at VGA resolution. Let us take a look at the individual components of this Camera

Kodak C180 Resolution and Optical Zoom

Kodak C180 has 10.2 megapixel resolution which, according to the manufacturer description can take “stunning prints up to 30 x 40 inches”. While there are cameras with higher resolutions available, very few of us need the high resolution. Most of the users are likely to use this camera for normal 4″ x 6″ prints and emails. In some cases you may be taking 8″ x 10″ and for which this resolution should be more than sufficient. Optically Kodak C180 camera has 3x optical zoom using its aspheric zoom lens (35 mm equivalent: 32 – 96 mm). The camera also has 5x digital zoom, in case if you need to capture the details while shooting itself and do not wish take the burden of editing later on.

Kodak C180 Storage

The Kodak C180 stores the picture in the external SD/SDHC card which is not supplied with the camera. If you do not have a SD card with you may like to buy one when you buy this camera. Although, there is 16 MB of internal storage, you should not count on it. It will hardly take more than couple of pictures in highest resolution.

Kodak C180 LCD / Viewfinder

The Kodak C180 features a 2.4 inch LCD screen which can be used to view the captured image. It can also be used as a viewfinder to see pictures before capturing them.

Kodak C180 Blur reduction

The Kodak C180 features ability to reduce the effect of the blur on the photos. While you may still like to minimize the camera shake to reduce the blur picture – the technology takes care of reducing the blur.

Kodak C180 Video

The Kodak C180 also takes decent quality video in addition to the photos. The video is captured in VGA resolution. You can capture audio alongwith the video. The camera also has the ability to capture individual frames of the video for prints or photo sharing.

Picture Editing and other features in Kodak C180

Kodak C180 has the feature and ability to edit the pictures from the camera itself. It provides common editing features, like cropping, resizing. You can take a picture of yourself using the built in timer in Kodak C180.

Now some of the negative aspects. This Kodak C180 does not have a rechargeable battery. It does not come with a charger. We have mentioned so many times, why camera designers keep missing the most basic feature. All the users want is ability to charge the battery in a similar way that the cell phone users charge there phones. The camera users should not need to open the battery compartment to charge the batteries.

That being said, the camera is real steal at the price at which it is offered ( $59 at the time of writing).
