LG Optimus 2X Review – Tegra 2 based Super phone

LG’s Android line of smartphones added up with the latest LG Optimus 2X. This smartphone is slightly away from its earlier series. The earlier ones such as the Optimus, Optimus One, and LG Touch Max (GW620) are totally belong to mid-range category. Now, the latest LG Optimus 2X is completely related to high-end category. Recently NVIDIA said about this phone as a Super Phone. Of Course, currently NVIDIA labeled this Super Phone with every smartphone that is equipped with Tegra 2.

The LG Optimus 2X is famous for presenting first time the NVIDIA’s new mobile chipset. This Tegra 2 chipset is famous for graphics and successful at offering on-board graphics handling along with Full HD encoding and decoding. NVIDIA showcased this LG Optimus 2X in CES 2011 conference as a launch device for their latest chipset.

The display of this latest phone is arranged with touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and sized at 4-inches. The display is quite captivating with vibrant colors and bright resolution. The mentioned resolution is more for that particular screen sized device. People always appreciate this kind of enhanced display for their smartphones. The screen of this smartphone is slightly tapered at the edges. This is for not letting the sharp edge at the side. It has rounded back in order to make it quite handy. Memory is going to consumed more due to the Full HD capture capability. The handset is equipped with 8GB memory and buyer can have further expansion through micro SD Card (32GB).

This LG Optimus 2X is currently running on Android 2.2 and it can be upgraded to Android 2.3. It would be good if this update is arranged before it reaches customers keeping in mind the earlier delays for the OS upgrade with other smartphones. It is true that still this Android 2.2 is capable enough to offer some of the valuable features such as Wi-Fi hotspot, Adobe Flash support and some more. The Android new keyboard for this device is hidden behind the skin, layered over the top.

The LG Optimus 2X is smart and quick responsive for a user. Of course you will witness a slight lag with the applications but it can be ignorable. The multi-touch of this device is quite responsive and smooth. Navigation would be simple, smooth and esay through this multi-touch feature. Many of the games and video playbacks would be flawless with its NVIDIA 1GHz Tegra 2 chipset. Its HDMI output will enable you to hook-up with your HD TV or some other external media quite easily. There is a special Tegra Zone which allows the user towards more advanced content quite easily. Video playback and gaming would be flawless with this latest handset.

The LG Optimus 2X is quite impressive in its looks and performance. Screen is quite captivating with vibrant colors and impressive resolution. Perhaps, the design could be a little drawback. The kind of style and advanced features paired up with this phone are not matching well with its design. Android 2.3 update is another significant concern should think about. Battery life is still to be judged. Definitely this is a high-specs enabled device and standing tall currently in the smartphones market. It doesn’t mean that the race is over and there are still on the line. But, we appreciate the kind of veil lifted for the competition on the smartphones arena.
