I picked up a agnavox MBP5120/F7 this morning on a black Friday deal. So far I had to take it out of the cabinet to get a wireless signal, though the router is a ten feet away. When I took it out of the cabinet I had a full signal. Now that I have it connected all I can find is Vudu, though I’ve read Pandora, Netflix, and other streaming sites. Anyone have any idea how to hook them up?

This player from Walmart ONLY offers Vudu – we’ve called Netfix and found out that they do not have a contract for placing their software in this paticular product & therefore can not get the Netflix service to this player. We are returning it! Wish I would have known a little more about the internet options.

After getting up at 4:00 am on Black Friday to buy a 5120, I was hugely disappointed. It DOES NOT have Netflix! With no apparent plans by Magnavox (Funai corp of America) to update the firmware to allow Netflix, the only option is VUDU, An (apparently) groundbreaking HD streaming service -2 years ago anyway- which it seems is the last time they updated their website if the reviews and forum dates are any indication.

VUDU does have some of the latest releases, but TV episodes are scanty and virtually nonexistent. After checking firmware, both Magnavox and VUDU sites, and even calling area WalMarts to see if there were any 5130’s left (an identical model which DOES have Netflix which Walmart will swap for the 5120), I’m taking mine back tomorrow.

If you want a specific streaming app on your TV/Blu-ray, MAKE SURE the logos for what you want are on the box. Seems if it’s not already included, it never will be. Word to the wise…

I picked up the blue ray at Walmart on black friday. Great deal, but I tried to hook it up today and everything works but wifi. Called customer service, and was told it is something new and is only extra so it may not work, he couldn’t help me and told me good luck. WTF really. Can anyone help?

I bought the 5120 a while back. I couldn’t get it to work. I have an old Emerson tv with vhs and dvd player in the tv. My dvd side quit 2 years ago. It would not open for me to play my dvd’s. I bought the Magnovox 5120 blu ray dvd player a while back. It would not play dvds in the player. When I pushed the button to open the player my dvd part of the tv opened. The blu ray player was not hooked to the tv when this happened. I didn’t worry about the player not working to play my dvds as long as the tv dvd worked. A couple of weeks ago I decided to get Netflix and so tried the blu ray player and it showed the Vudu screen. I can’t get it to connect to the internet. I need it to get Netflix on it. I can’t find my reciept for the 5120 to take it back to Walmart. Is there any way to get Netflix on this player?
