The release of the Beta 5 for the Redsn0w 0.9.7 makes an important landmark, as it fixes the bluetooth issue in the phone. Released recently by the iPhone Dev team, the Beta 5 version of the Redsn0w 0.9.7 jailbreak tool is intended for the testers and the early adapters. This makes this update yet another update of the Redsn0w 0.9.7. The new version will fix the sandbox related issues. The most important of these issues includes the Bluetooth issue. The Bluetooth problem was found on the untethered iOS 4.2.1 jailbreak.

The iPhone Dev team also added and note of “anti piracy plea”. This note is expected to serve a warning if you you are pirating the iOS 4.2 beta firmware.

The iPhone Dev Team has also readied the Windows version of the Beta 5 of Redsn0w 0.9.7 ( also called Redsn0w 0.9.7b5). However, the beta 5 version is very slow. The Dev Team has therefore decided not to release it until it can fix the issue related to the performance of the Windows version.

By comparision, the MAC version of the Redsn0w 0.9.7b5 is pretty fast. The Main reason, the Redsn0w 0.9.7b5 is slow in the Windows is that – it uses the hard disk to access the files on the hard disk. The MAC version, instead uses the RAM to access the lasrge IPSW images. They will therefore release it only after fixing the issue.
