With every big gadget manufacturer out there looking to jump onto the slate bandwagon, there is absolutely no reason why Toshiba will not like to adore this latest computer form factor. Toshiba is certain that there is a growing market for iPad like products and therefore it is considering to release a couple of such tablets.

Toshiba branded tablets will be using the Google open source Android platform for one of its tablets while another one will be a a dual screen tablet that will run on Windows.

This is no unconfirmed news as Jeff Barney, general manager of digital products for Toshiba America, has himself endorsed these facts.

As per Jeremy, Toshiba will target to manufacture tablets and the idea is to ‘enhance the Toshiba appeal’. Therefore, Toshiba is not eager to develop these slates to hamper the revenue generated by the sales of its popular notebooks.

The Windows OS laden dual-screen tablet will be the more expensive one while the Android based tablet will look to go mainstream and hence the pricing will be affordable. [via: Slashgear]
